Charleen Larkin Elected As Connecticut Councilwoman For The Professional Photographers Of America

Effective July 1, 2018

Professional photographer Charleen Larkin of Dayville CT was elected to the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) Council for 2018 – 2021 for the state of CT. A non-profit, international association with more than 30,000 members, PPA is ultimately governed by its members through such council representatives.

Charleen plans to take this time to help focus on the small town photographers of CT. She will be helping them to grow successfully within the industry and help guide them in the educational aspect of running a business while staying creative and making a profit. Charleen will also be working towards protecting the copyright laws that apply to the professional photographer and sharing how PPA  provides equipment insurance and legal assistance within their membership.

PPA Councilors are professional photographers who volunteer their time and service to guide and act as the voice for their state’s PPA members. Duties include discussing and voting on changes to the Bylaws and the leadership of the association (via the election of the Nominating Committee and the Board of Directors). They also play a crucial role in sharing the PPA message to existing, new and prospective PPA members in their state.

Charleen Larkin is a graduate of Killingly High School and proud supporter of her home town community. After much support and guidance of her high school instructor Alex Caserta, she attended the Rhode Island School of Photography and graduated at the top of her class. Charleen is certified through the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and has earned her Craftsman and Masters Degree through the organization. Charleen is also the newly appointed Director of the New England Institute of Professional Photography (NEIPP), a continued educational school for photographers across the country. Charleen’s Portrait Studio is located in her home town of Killingly where she and her husband Bill grew up and are raising their family. She enjoys photographing High School Seniors, Children, Pets, Families, Newborn babies, Maternity, Schools, Leagues and Executives. Charleen believes that everyone deserves the very best and she always strives to give 110% no matter the session or situation.
